Our Certified and Master Trainers come from a variety of backgrounds. Each trainer undergoes rigorous individual coaching and evaluation by Dr. Sampson to ensure that the quality of the program you receive meets the highest standards.


Bill Allen
Bill holds a Masters degree in Public Administration. As President of Bill Allen & Associates he designs, develops, and delivers leadership and management training for U.S. government organizations.


Mike Barkhurst
Mike has a BA in Business management and is currently seeking a graduate degree in criminology. He is an experienced law enforcement, detention, and prison professional who has extensive experience as a manager of special needs inmate populations, especially dealing with the severely mentally ill. He is currently a Deputy Warden of Security with Athens-Clarke County Correctional Institution in Athens, Georgia.


Trudy Boyce
Trudy holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. She is currently a Lieutenant with the Atlanta Police Department with over 30 years in law enforcement. Trudy has worked all levels of law enforcement including patrol officer, homicide detective, hostage negotiator, and has advanced training in criminal profiling


Chris Bratton
Chris is a Master Peace Officer and Certified Instructor with over 33 years in law enforcement (26+ years with Round Rock (Texas) Police Department, of which 18 years have been in the position of Division Commander). He holds a Bachelor of  Arts in Administration of Criminal Justice from Washington International College. He is also a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT), the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), and the Texas A&M Bush School of Government Leadership Development for Integrated Emergency Response (LDIER). Chris has served as a training consultant for over 20 years to various agencies including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Capital Area Council of Governments, Texas Sheriff’s Association, Texas Attorney General’s Office, Texas State Auditor’s Office, SoTelligence, Institute of Forensic Science and Technology (Monterrey, Mexico), and numerous local law enforcement agencies.


Jim Brown
Jim earned a Masters in Clinical Psychology and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology. As the author of over 80 professional publications and presentations, he has held various faculty and administrative positions across several university settings. Jim has worked as a consultant and trainer in interpersonal skills for education, law enforcement, corrections, and federal agencies.


Ted Cochran
Ted is a decorated Navy veteran with a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He has served as the Director of Public Safety – Kennesaw State University since 1983. Ted is P.O.S.T. Executive and Management certified, and he is a member of several advisory boards and local, state, national, and international law enforcement associations, including MetroPol.


Diane Davenport
Diane holds a Ph.D. in Counseling. She has served in a variety of Human Resource leadership roles for over 25 years including Vice-president of Human Resources for Mirant Corporation and Director of Human Resource Development for Cox Enterprises. She specializes in leadership development, training, succession planning, organization development, and change management.


Gerry Guiney
With a Bachelor of Professional Science degree in Corrections Administration (Cum Laude, SUNY College of Technology), Gerry has 35 + years with the New York State Department of Correctional Services as a Corrections Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Regional Training Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Superintendent of Security. He has over 25 years in training and is a Master Trainer in SoTelligence™, Interpersonal Communications, Hostage Negotiations, Suicide Prevention and Intervention, Stress Awareness and Coping Techniques, Correction Management, and Emergency Management. Gerry has been a consultant and/or member for more than 25 years to the American Correctional Association, ACA Professional Development Faculty, Department of Defense, National Institute of Corrections, National Academy of Corrections, and numerous Correction/Law Enforcement Organizations.
